We decided to head to Fort Wayne on Saturday to visit Science Central, do a Costco run (adulting…amiright), and try out a new restaurant that a friend of mine recommended to me called Bravas.
You’re never too old to be a kid. We built things out of metal, danced, went into a tilted room (which made me nauseous), built robotic cars and raced them, pretended to be Mastodons, used a robotic arm to move moon rocks, and Melissa even went on the high rise bicycle (she’s braver than me).
Today is the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Neil Armstrong was from Wapakoneta so every year they celebrate his achievement. Wapak does the Moon Festival every year but this year it was even bigger due to it being the 50th anniversary.
Over 50,000 people came (5x more than the population of Wapak)!
We went to the Moon Market, ate some yummy food, and watched the wiener dog races downtown.
We visited also visited the Armstrong Air & Space Museum.
Melissa and I took a few days off work to travel to Virginia to visit her family and see some amazing historical things.
Nana and Grandpa had a visitor. A beautiful peacock who was trying desperately to get the attention of a lady peacock. Maybe try a dad joke? It worked for Melissa.
We met up with Melissa’s Aunt Tina and Uncle Larry-Keith at their lake house. They took us out on the boat and treated us to a delicious lunch (I ate ALL the shrimps) and ice cream.
Melissa surprised me by taking me to Ferry Farm, George Washington’s boyhood home. They made a replica of the home on the existing foundation. It was AMAZING.
We visited historic downtown Fredericksburg. I AM IN LOVE.

Melissa’s friend, Joanne, came and stayed with us for the weekend. It was amazing getting to know her and to hear stories about younger Melissa.

We finished the day by watching Apollo 13. Toby really enjoyed it as well.
