Moon Fest – An Awfully Big Adventure

Wapak Summer Moon Festival 2019

Today is the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. Neil Armstrong was from Wapakoneta so every year they celebrate his achievement. Wapak does the Moon Festival every year but this year it was even bigger due to it being the 50th anniversary.

Over 50,000 people came (5x more than the population of Wapak)!

We went to the Moon Market, ate some yummy food, and watched the wiener dog races downtown.

We visited also visited the Armstrong Air & Space Museum.

Moon Fest Balloon Launch

Wapakoneta does a Summer Moon Festival every year to celebrate the anniversary of the first men on the moon. We decided to check it out. Today was the balloon launch and night glow. Next Saturday is the 50th anniversary and so there’s an even bigger event (that we are going to).
