Our Boys

  • Russell was adopted by Melissa on 15 September 2018 after spending a year at the shelter.
  • While at the shelter he graduated from the Prison Program.
  • Prior to his time at the shelter he lived in a very abusive home. We don’t know exactly what he endured but we know it was physical as he has a scar on his head.
  • As a result of his abuse he is very nervous around strangers, especially men, and shows his anxiety by barking loudly and, if feeling very threatened, lunging at people.
  • We have been working hard to help him accept his traumas and learn to trust again.
  • He has made amazing progress so far.
  • Tobias was surrendered, along with his brothers and sisters, at five weeks old in February of 2017.
  • He spent three weeks at the shelter before being sent to a foster home.
  • At eight weeks he was officially adopted by Jessi but spent the next four weeks with his foster family.
  • He was top of his class at Obedience School and was often used as the example (teacher’s pet).
  • At twelve weeks he and Jessi met for the first time.
  • It was love at first sight.
